About My Masterpiece

Let me introduce myself.  I am Elisabeth Linton, owner of
My Masterpiece Fine Art & Frames.

When I first learned picture framing in 1992, I just wanted to know how to do it for myself. Arts and Crafts have been my passion ever since I can remember, but a funny thing happened when I began to work with art.  I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to do more and more.  My family began teasing me about it and said, "If it's flat, or semi-flat, hide it, or she'll frame it!"

Soon I was asked to take on the management position at a custom frame shop and I loved every minute of my time there; from assisting my customers with making the right choices - to teaching picture framing to students - to doing the hands-on work of creating a unique frame design.

Two years ago, I established a custom framing design studio in a home environment, where I also have the space for all the tools and machines I need to have a complete workshop.  Here I welcome my clients on an appointment basis where I can pay undivided attention to their needs.  Even children are welcome and can entertain themselves by playing with toys or watching TV while their mother and I can leisurely discuss framing choices.

Twice a year I attend the Art and Decor Expo/Trade Shows in New York City (March) and Atlanta (September) where all the newest materials and styles are exhibited and where I also take advantage of numerous continuing education classes in the field.

I was born in Vienna, Austria, and lived in Europe for more than three decades of my life, so I frequently visit my family there.  I use these occasions to also travel to other parts of Europe where I search for exceptional art sources for my clients.  Having been raised with and exposed to European culture and art for much of my life, I try to continually educate myself in that field.  Whenever possible, I visit art museums and major art galleries in every city I travel to, here and abroad.

If you have any questions or special requests, please don't hesitate to contact me.  I am constantly expanding my knowledge and resources for finding new as well as antique pieces of art.

The studio walls are covered with literally hundreds (actually over 2500) frame samples.  At first, it may seem a little overwhelming, but after dicussing my customer's needs, together we can quickly make the perfect choices for mats, mouldings, and design.

I have over a dozen sources for frames, giving you unique choices not accessible otherwise in the Greenville area.  Many of these mouldings are crafted in Europe (Italy, Germany, Spain, and England) and feature exceptionally beautiful woods, wood veneers, and designs.
